Since our founding we have evolved into one of the most culturally diverse societies at UCL, incorporating students of different religious faith backgrounds and origins. We focus to adhere to UCL's slogan, being a society that follows being "London's Global University" with members from all over the globe. Our aim is to celebrate the vibrant and colourful culture India has to offer whilst appealing to a diverse variety of students far from Indian origin. From the food, music, dance, sports or even language - there's something for everyone to appreciate!
Throughout the academic year, our calendar is filled with a huge spectrum of events, from smaller scale ones such as our weekly Project Bollywood dance classes, a Sangeet musical showcase night in Mully's to larger scale events in the form of our flagship inter-university dinner and dance ball Jashn. Last year saw over 15 universities from across the UK attend the event at the astonishing 5 Star Montcalm Hotel and this year we promise a ball even grander and awe-inspiring than ever before! We also aim to diversify by celebrating some of the festivals India encompasses such as with our Diwali event and many more to come.
Other highlights of your year with us will include our sell out Dhamaal Part 1 and Dhamaal Part 2, both of which remain a hit each year with members from across the society. It is so popular in fact, that Dhamaal Part 2 sold out in just 3 days, the fastest a club night has ever sold out! A night at Sway in Mayfair proved popular with getting to know members too - just one of the ways our society is a great way to meet people! The Bombay Bazaar and Finale ensure we conclude our year in style. In short, your year with us will be unforgettable!
This year we hope to take the society to even higher heights than ever before. With so much going on this year there's no reason not to be a part of the Indian Society community, from making new friends to learning new dance moves, Indian Society is definitely the society to be a part of this year! We would be delighted to see you at one of events very soon.
